Tigers Prospects Stats-Week 4
Hitters-
Will Rhymes- Is still swinging a hot stick with a .317 average and continues to make every play at 2nd base.
Casper Wells- Has to lead the league in “HBP.” However, when he hasn’t got hit. Casper has skyrocketed his average to .286 and clubbed his 2nd home run just the other day. Also, defensively he has provided some quality assists by throwing guys out at the plate.
By far the hottest Tiger hitter as of late is Jeff Larish. He started off a little slow but has moved his average up to a respectable .288 and has hit 3 home runs along with 19 RBIS. He hit one of his home runs today that might of landed in “Mexico.” Defensively he has been playing 1rst and 3rd and has played very well for the Solar Sox.
Pitching-
Casey Fien- One of the best pitchers in the league thus far. Casey has still not surrendered a run in the AFL. In 8 2/3 he has 9 strikeouts, along with no walks. Just “Casey being Casey.”
Rudy Darrow- Rudy has had a good past two weeks. Currently he is sporting a 2.45 e.r.a. through 7 1/3, along with 9 strikeouts.
Luis Marte- “The Comeback Kid.” Has fired back with 2 great outings for us- Both outings in which he pitched 4 innings and also recording 14 k’s.
Zach Simons- I have started to settle down since my forgettable 1rst outing. Tossing 5 scoreless since.
Pitching Coach-
Ray Burris- Has provided some quality instruction out here. He also would like to give a shout out to “Nike” for providing him with some shiny new turfs.
Burris Fact: The man can eat an entire pound of Vanilla Ice Cream in one day. INSANE!!
Tigers in the AFL

I just wanted you to know that I check the boxscores every day to see how you and some of the other guys are doing. We are planning on seeing you in Lakeland in Feb. or March. Keep up the good work. Things in your “home in Asheville” are going well. We would really like to see you (or a picture) in your Tigers uni and Solar Sox cap. Gary and Karen

Those box scores look great. Your era is going down and all of the team is doing great. You guys are tearing up the league. Keep up the the good work. I’m looking forward to looking at the box scores everyday. Let the Future Tigers know that we are proud of them and looking forward to Lakeland.

You need to check out the Tigers web site. They have put on a very nice web cam interview with all of you guys in Arizona. I know a lot of people see it. The more exposure for you guys the better. You guys need to get back on the winning ways.

Another good outing. Getting them out by fly balls is still an out. Casey was due to have a outing like he had. It looked like it was Caspers day in the field as well as the plate. You guys are doing good.

Good week for you and the team. Just want to let you know that they had a big article in the Detroit Free Press about Will and they also mentioned all of you and how each one of you have impressed the managemant of the Tigers. They haven’t mentioned anyone else from the minor leagues. You all should be proud. One more week and then home for the Holidays. Keep up the good work.

The pitch count looked good. Are you still just throwing fastballs? I think that all of you pitchers are glad that you are on Mesa and not having to pitch against them. They are killing the baseball. Just a couple more days and then home for a couple of months. I know that all of you are looking forward to it. Keep doing the job that you are doing. See you at spring training.
